Stutton School Council has representatives from each year group in the school from Year 1 to 6. Each class has a Class Council meeting, where ideas are shared and then the representatives from the class take these suggestions to the school council meeting.
We meet at least once every half term to discuss events, eco-schools, fundraising, school changes and improvements.
Our school has had links with schools in Ghana for over 10 years. Recently we have been working with Nawuni School in the northern region of Ghana and we have had visitors into school who have either lived in or visited Ghana, which enriches our childrens’ view of the world we live in.
Eco-Schools is an international award programme that guides schools on their sustainable journey, providing a framework to help embed these principles into the heart of school life. The schools’ Eco-Committee have led the whole school in achieving the Silver Eco Award and we are currently working towards gaining the Green Flag Award in conjunction with the wider community.
